Dr. Hack was born in South Africa and moved to Columbia, SC, with his family at the age of eight. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology here in the Upstate at North Greenville University. He then attended the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, graduating with distinction with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed both his internship in internal medicine and residency in ophthalmology at Baylor Scott & White in Temple, TX, serving as chief resident his final year.
In 2018, he completed a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City. He and his wife, Rachael, are the proud parents of two precious daughters, Charlotte and Olivia. Dr. Hack has a special interest in medical missions and enjoys spending time with his family, outdoor activities, reading, and a good cup of coffee.
He and his family feel very blessed to be part of the Southern Eye family!

Dr. O’Dell earned his biology degree and Doctorate of Optometry at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He has completed a residency in ocular disease at the Chillicothe VAMC and Chalmers P Wylie VAACC. He met his wife, Justine, in optometry school and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. O’Dell has had the opportunity to provide eye care to the Apache Native Americans in Whiteriver, Arizona as well as to our veterans in Huntington, West Virginia. He is a member in good standing of both the American Optometric Association and the South Carolina Optometric Association. He enjoys baseball, guitar, and being involved in his local church. Dr. O’Dell and his wife feel blessed to have been called to the Upstate.

Dr. Pace was born and raised in East Tennessee, where his love of medicine began. He completed his medical training in North Carolina and ophthalmology residency in Texas. During his residency, he developed an interest in the unique and exciting field of oculoplastic surgery. He completed an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Wake Forest in North Carolina.
When he’s not working, Dr. Pace enjoys spending as much time with his wife and three kids as possible. His hobbies include listening to and playing music, traveling, cooking, and running. He is also an active member of his church community.
Dr. Pace is honored to be serving the Upstate as part of the Southern Eye Associates family.

Dr. Reardon was born and raised in Kingstree, SC. He studied at the College of Charleston Honors College where he obtained Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry and a Bachelor's of Arts in Chemistry. During his time there, he studied abroad in Costa Rica where he learned Spanish while living with a host family. For his medical education, he attended the Medical University of South Carolina and graduated in 2011. He completed his intern year in general surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina's Storm Eye Institute. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Reardon and his wife have two girl's and are happy to call Greenville home.

Jeffrey V. Swearingen, OD, is a native of Portsmouth, Ohio where he attended Portsmouth High School. He attended The Ohio State University (TOSU) in Columbus, Ohio, where he graduated with a BS degree in 1982, as well as his Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree in 1984. While in school he served on various class and school committees and was President of Epsilon Psi Epsilon, a professional Optometry Fraternity.
After graduation, Dr. Swearingen remained at the College of Optometry at TOSU as a clinical instructor for a year before moving onto a private practice in Norfolk, Virginia. He returned to Columbus in 1987 and maintained a private practice of his own there until April 2014, at which time he relocated to Mauldin, SC.
Dr. Swearingen served as a Clinical Faculty instructor for TOSU College of Optometry from 1998 until 2014, serving as a preceptor and mentor to fourth year Optometry students. From 1992 until 2012, he served as a Clinical Examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, the organization which develops, administers, and scores entry level competency examinations required for licensing of Optometrists in all states. He also served in varying positions for the Central Ohio Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association.
Dr. Swearingen’s wife, Ann, is Optical Manger for Southern Eye Associates in Greenville and Greer. Together they have four children and 7 grandchildren. In his spare time, Dr. Swearingen enjoys bowling, golfing, bike riding, cooking, and traveling.

Dr. Williams lives in Greenville with his wife and 4 children and has been in private practice since 1987. Dr. Williams enjoys doing part-time mission work with his family in Third World countries. He is an avid outdoorsman. Dr. Williams considers ophthalmology a ministry, and his greatest desire is to please the God he serves. His greatest earthly joy is his family.
